Here is the skinny on Hong Kong Noodle on Washington Avenue. As I've learned from forthcoming waitresses, there are three chefs, one exceedingly capable, the other two fairly incompetent. It's my understanding that if you order from the board on the wall your order will be prepared by the capable chef, otherwise it's a toss-up. These days I simply ask for the "good chef" and the waitresses know what I mean. Ordering an "American-Chinese" dish is the kiss of death. Your entire order will probably get tanked.
At its peak Hong Kong Noodle is one of the very best Chinese restaurants in Mpls., but one must be fairly crafty to secure a first-rate meal.
