Moving to the Bay Area!

thewongmann | Mar 4, 201506:16 PM

Now that my internal transfer has been officially announced to my organization, I'm excited to say I'm moving to the Bay Area, with my work based in Oakland (14th & Broadway).

Because of that, I'll need to find a place to rent. Why I'm moving to the metro with the most insane rent prices in the nation? I don't know.

What I do know is I'd like to rent in a neighborhood ideally that has some great eats. As some of you may have gathered, I have tended toward Asian (specifically Chinese and Cantonese at that, given that it's my "cultural cuisine") but honestly I do love food of all styles and being in a place near great food options is relatively important to me (almost on par with rent prices and transit options). I will have a car, though something more BART or AC Transit friendly is a plus. Preferably somewhere in Oakland/Berkeley/Albany area but neighborhoods in the city or within an hour's commute of downtown Oakland in rush hour (car/bus/or train) fine too.

Current areas I'm looking at at are Rockridge, Grand Lake, and North Berkeley but would love any suggestions! Thanks and I suppose I'll chow with yall soon!
