Let me cut to the chase. This goes beyond just Moutard, but I'll start with them since that is where I dined recently.
A place like Moutard should be serving 100% real maple syrup with their pancakes/french toast, like Rosewater does. I was shocked that they served corn syrup based "syrup", considering the caliber of much of their food.
Which leads me to my greater complaint. What is wrong with restaurants, and I've had this experience ALL over NYC and all over the US, even Canada!
I now ask before I order and still after promising maple syrup, I get corn syrup. Are people so tasteless and ignorant that they cannot decern between the two? How about the restaurants that even put the words "maple syrup" on their menus and then serve this dreck?
Can someone explain this?
