I recently moved to Mountain View, a few blocks from Castro St., and while I've had some great meals I wonder if I could get some recommendations, rather than try each and every restaurant.

For Chinese, I've heard that Queen House and someplace on El Camino (Mei something?) are really good. I've eaten and Fu Lam Mum and it's pretty good, and I want to try the duck at Food Street. For Japanese, I've only been to Somo Sushi which was fun, but which of the others are good? I also liked Amarin Thai.

I'm also interested in places to buy food. The farmer's market is great, but what about buying meat and fish? I hate the old frozen stuff they sell at the supermarket, although Piazza's seems to have decent chicken. And I'd give anything to find some decent, non-Boar's head cold cuts.
