Tord-thanks a million for taking the time to type that all in. I'm sure our Boston chowhounds (posters and lurkers!) will find it useful.

"Men are admitted into Chowhound heaven not because they have curbed and governed their passion for food or have no passions for food, but because they have cultivated their understandings of that passion.

The treasures of Chowhound heaven are not negations of passion, but realities of the mind, from which all the passions emanate unrestrained in their eternal glory"

In other words - we can't help ourselves -and we should never doubt until the last spoonful is pried from our cold dead fingers

Thanks for the "thanks a million" -I don't hear that phrase much anymore. :- )

What do chowhounds find motivates them to write about what they eat?
