Went here last night with low expectations and left absolutely wowed. Service skews a little young and eager, but that's better than the opposite; the place is too big for its vibe—its spaciousness and intimacy don't quite jibe. Plus it was virtually empty. But of 5 dishes we had from the definitively contemporary American menu, 4 were truly knockouts; only 1 was a disappointment. (The amuse was also delish.)
I'll post a full report on Denveater sometime today (blog address in my profile), but here's a link to the dinner menu.
The chef's name is Chester Wright; per Google, a Chester Wright has cooked at the Brown Palace, the Inverness Resort, and the CO Springs Memorial Hospital North (!). Those of you who've lived here longer than me—same guy?
(Off-topic, we afterward went to see Dengue Fever at the hi-dive—check 'em out; they may likewise be the best band you've barely heard of.)
