Been reading a lot about Pastrami recently and headed today to Mort's Deli in Tarzana for their Thursday sandwich special - Pastrami on rye with fries for $9.25.
The sandwich was full of lean, juicy pastrami and the rye bread, being that they get their rye from Bea's Bakery attached to the deli, was super-fresh. All in all, a very satisfying lunch. Of course, I had to finish with a Black and White from Bea's.
Mort's is a long time favorite haunt, certainly not the best deli around, but always reliable. How come it never comes up much around here? What are your thoughts on Mort's?
