Morton's Gift Certificate

Pappy | Jul 18, 2002 09:41 AM

I received a card from Morton's in the mail yesterday entitling me to a "$75 Five Course Steak and Seafood Dinner for Two (as often as I'd like until 9/30)." It includes:

Choice of 2: Caesar of Morton's Salad
Choice of 2: Shrimp Alexander or Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
2: Filet Mignons
1: Morton's Signiture Potato Dish
1: Fresh Vegetable
Choice of 2: Godiva Hot Chocolate Cake or New York Cheese Cake.
2: Coffee or Tea

While this sounds like a pretty good deal, and I understand why Morton's would need to promote business during the summer months, I'm very suspicious. First of all, am I correct to assume this is $75 for BOTH people? What's the deal? Am I getting the leftovers?

Has anyone else received this promotion? Taken advantage of it?

I believe it might have been through AmEx. I should say, I do have lunch at Morton's about twice a year, so that may have gotten me into their database.

Last summer they offered me 1/2 off all wine. Although I recognize the savings, their wine is so overpriced that I quickly discarded the coupon.
