I found a great Moroccan place in Jersey City today. It's in a pizzeria on Jordan Avenue, right off Montgomery St (about one block before Bergen Ave). The place is called El-Andalous and although they make pizza, what they really make is great Moroccan home cooked food. They also make their own bread and cookies. I tried the tagine with lamb and artichoke. Wonderful with the fresh bread just out of the oven and mint tea. Very inexpensive too. The owner was on hand and was happy to answer my questions. I can't wait to go back and try more of the items on the menu (chicken tagine with preserved lemon, merguez tagine, pastilla). There is no ambience to speak of but hte friendliness of the owner and the quality of the food make up for that.
