Moriarty's Wine Bar/Bistro (Edmonton)

Bob Mac | Dec 24, 200903:09 PM

Patrick Devaney of the Sherlock Holmes' pubs has opened a wine bar adjacent to the downtown/Rice Howard Way location which used to "house" Mimi's and then Ching's not so long ago.

Nice looking modern clean interior dominated by white booths, a number of 4 seater tables and two longer tables that can seat ten in addition to the bar itself.

The current menu has a few appetizers, salads, croque-monsieur sandwiches and a number of flatbreads.

I had a refreshing roast chicken salad and a nice glass of Cdn. chenin blanc earlier in the week.

Wine list is pretty good. They were working on their expensive by the glass wine server when I was there as they have only been open less than a week.

It is a nice addition to the downtown offerings when one wants to pop in for a glass of wine rather than a pint of "the black" next door at Sherlocks.
