Moonlight Deli is in a small strip mall in the western end of San Rafael. It's a small shop with an eclectic menu of sandwiches, falafel, dolmas, etc. I've always found the food to be quite good and the staff very friendly. There are tables outside under a large covering, but I got takeout today. I had their newish sandwich, the Fireman ($9.50) - turkey, bacon, salami, cheese, avocado, jalapeno, lettuce, etc, and it all came together into a very good sandwich. Large enough that the 1/2 that I had for lunch definitely was enough for one meal. The photos are of 1/2 of the sandwich. It's easy to forget about this very small place, but it deserves to be remembered.
