Half Moon Bay Brewery... thanks

jay | Sep 15, 200303:13 PM

I had read an earlier post or two about this place and went there on Saturday with some relatives from India. They loved it.

We had the following entrees:

Crab/shrimp sandwich w/fries:

Excellent sandwich, crispy fries, I added a little dijon to the bread to make it perfect...

Grilled Shrimp w/rice (Daily Special)

About 9 big shrimp over two skewers... outstanding as my relatives gave me half of their food!!! I don't know where they get their shrimp from but it is by far the tastiest I have had in a while.

My dad had the fish tacos... I didn't sample these but the rest of the table raved...

My aunt had fish and chips made with local cod... I am not a big fish and chips person (too deep fried for me), but these were delicious with the fish being very fresh...

the only not stellar parts were:

1. My dad got a bowl of clam chowder... very good tasting but too much salt

2. My creamy gumbo was good, maybe I am just not a gumbo fan... it was just too heavy... I know lousy description... it could of used some shrimp...

My uncle and I had some brews... the light pale ale is very nice...

The portions are very good as well, not dirt cheap... about 14-22 bucks for most of the food... but delicious
