Best Montreal "Steamies" these days? Greasiest and yummiest Patate Frites?

MisterMike | Jan 31, 201507:11 PM     6

Wonder where the best steamed hot dogs and "frites" can be found these days. Used to be Montreal Pool Room on The Main and the Green Spot on Notre Dame just west of Atwater.

They were so greasy they needed two bags.

Remember most of the steamies joints used Hygrade or Coorsh hot dogs which were probably loaded with mystery meat and lots of paprika but they were so yummy good and we were younger back then. Four of 'em was a good feed with fries and a Pepsi and a Mae West for desert.

These days I make my own steamies (Boston is not into such proletarian foods) but I use Hebrew National 100% kosher beef reduced fat franks. They're relatively healthy in comparison to Coorsh/Hygrade product and have a great taste of their own.

But they are from New York not Montreal........(although they are now made in Omaha NE by Con-Agra Foods.)
