montreal restaurants

My wife and I along with another couple made our annual trek to Montreal and, as usual, ate well, and indeed, shopped well. The first stop on Friday night night was Buona Notte, 3518 Blvd. St.Laurent.
The ambiance was Italian upscale and contemporary. The food was excellent and the waitstaff was superb. I would highly recommend the restaurant.

On Saturday night, we went to what was billed as perhaps the best Portuguese restaurant in the world,
Ferreira Cafe Trattoria, 1446 Rue Peel.
I can't speak for the world but I can say the food was exceptional and the decor most attractive. Both of these restaurants had the look of New York City eateries.

In past visits to Montreal, let me recommend Les Halles on Crescent, and Il Mulino in Little Italy; both one of the best French and Italian in the city respectively.

We generally stay at Le Chateau Royale on Crescent or Le Chateau Versailles on Sherbrooke. Both places have always been a joy.

Sunny days,
