Restaurants & Bars

Monte Carlo, Monaco

I have not been in sooo long. I had the best meals of my life there. One day I dream of going back. I wanted to know if any of the old favorites are still around. Wow, that makes me sounds old, but I'm not really. I went as a kid, but never have gotten over the experience.

Anyways, one of my favorites was the Maison du Caviar. Is it still there? The best poulet roti I have ever had, and been around France. Not sure if it was poulet du brasse or not, but I remember being told that it was a very specially raised breed of chickens , it was served with frites of course. Also one of the best floating islands for dessert.

The other restaurant that stands in my mind was Sans Souci, one of the best Italian restaurants ever. Dinner was always served so late. I think the restaurant would not even open till 7:30 pm or so, and 8:00 pm people would starte showing up. We would be starving. In the meantime they would serve these appetizers until the food was ready. They called them pizzas. But they were tiny squares of focacia bread, with fresh rosemary and the most wonderful aromatic herbs I have ever smelled with tomato and a bit of cheese. We would devour them. Never had any pizza that came close to that. Then they had the most incredible Risotto with Cepes, a very good sole meuniere, Osso Bucco, and I am sure I'm leaving something else out.

Does anyone know if they are still around?
That would make my day.

Thanks (;
