As I'm well known as the foodie in my parts, a friend has asked my help in researching something and I'm turning to my trusty CH pals for help. Here's her question:
"My grandmother used to make a monkey bread, and I've never been able to find a recipe. It was not sweet/cinnamony, like most seem to be, but just buttery. The only recipes I've found have either been sweet or have used refrigerator biscuits. I think it was more like an egg bread, and she definitely made it from scratch. Do you think you could ask your foodies and see if anyone has a recipe??"
I will note, as it might relate, that my friend is Jewish and she said her mother used to serve it with chopped chicken livers, if those details are at all helpful. In fact, if anyone thinks I should post on the Kosher board about this for better luck, let me know.
Whaddya say, 'hounds?
