Just went to the new restaurant in Magnolia (opened by the same family as La Vita E Bella Cafe in Belltown), and it was wonderful. Apparently the family lives in Magnolia. They have a great menu and the fresh pasta was perfect. The atmosphere is very nice, very homey and comfortable. We shared the baby octopus appetizer, the mimosa salad, the papparedelle with veal meatballs, and the special which was stuffed veal rolls. This was more than enough for 2 people. I would recommend this place over Volterra. Volterra is nice too, and I'll still go there, but a bit "fancy schmancy" for it's own good I think. I'm looking forward to trying all the pastas at Mondello. It is already on it's way to becoming a great neighborhood restaurant. It was busy and full on a Monday night, and apparently you can find people waiting to get in on the busier nights. Make reservations!
