I had a very tasty lunch at Mon Ami Gabi on Woodmont Avenue at Bethesda Avenue in downtown Bethesda (next to the Landmark Bethesda Row movie theaters). Started with an onion soup that contained nicely caramelized onions in a flavorful broth with croutons and covered with a good Gruyere cheese, not overly broiled like in some restaurants. From there, I dined on one of their savory crepes, this one filled with perfectly cooked sea scallops, shrimp and baby peas in a light cream sauce with just a hint of mustard. Delicious. The crepe was quite long but I was able to finish it because it wasn't overstuffed and wasn't covered in too much sauce. The crepe was accompanied by a nicely crisp mixed greens salad lightly dressed with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. A great lunch on a cold day. The server I had was very nice and professional, a fellow named Carlos. He waited on my husband and me before and exhibited the same professionalism and effusiveness before. Ask for him.
