Molotov Pudding recipe

Does anyone have a recipe for Molotov Pudding which is a Portuguese dessert? My friend had it in a restaurant and we are trying to recreate it. When it is plated, it looks quite impressive: a very tall slice of delicate and ethereal white fluff with a browned chewy top, drizzled with caramel syrup.

I believe the concept is similar to Ile Flottante which is essentially egg whites that have been whipped with sugar, cream of tartar and baked in a tube pan. I have tried a Floating Island recipe but it is denser and nowhere near as fluffy as the Molotov that we sampled.

I found one Molotov recipe on the internet but am usure of its source and I'm reluctant to waste 8 eggs to test it out. This recipe calls for 8 eggwhites, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar. I've only seen cornstarch used in Pavlova recipes and they seem to be quite dense. 1/2 cup of sugar also seems low for that amount of egg whites.

Does anyone have a tried and true Molotov recipe or any suggestions on tweaking an Ile Flottante recipe to make it really fluffy and light?
