Best Mojito

betsubetsu | May 25, 2002 09:38 PM

Ahem. I'm afraid I must disagree with the SFWeekly's assessment that Luna Park makes the city's best Mojito. It isn't bad, but I found the mint leaves a bit tired, the ice insufficiently cracked, and an overall sense that the flavors hadn't melded--it seemed like the rum was fighting the mint for domination of the glass.

Lush Lounge (Polk @ Post), on the other hand grinds their always spry mint leaves well, and gives you a big straw so that you can ingest delicious bits of rum-soaked flotsam. It's the most "textured" cocktail I've ever had.

Actually, just about every drink I've had at Lush is top of its class, especially those made by bartender Wellington. It tastes like there's just more love in there.
