Modifying Cheeseball recipe

I have a classic cheeseball recipe that contains cheddar and cream cheeses. I am thinking about transforming it into a spread by spicing it up with a bit of tequila or vodka. I don't want a cheese disaster at the prices today. Any thoughts about thining it a bit to spreadable consistancy with liquor?
