Modern Apizza in New Haven-Just so-so

Had a clam pie and a tomato pie yesterday, and sorry to report they were not even close to the transcendent pizza I had hoped for.

Clam pie was kind of tasteless, the clams were slightly
less than fresh, the seasoning was not noticable.

Same with the tomato pie-it was OK, no more. Very bland.
Low quality mozzarella.

The crust on both pies was not nearly crisp enough, and a little too spongy.

After all the raves about this place it was a real disappointment. Not even in the same constellation as Johns's (Bleecker St.) or Patsy's (1st avenue)
