ISO moderately priced Italian food for 6 on a Friday night in June. I'm from L.A. and will be in town for a college reunion.
Menu needs to be somewhat safe, dependable and moderately priced as I haven't seen some of these people for years. I have no idea of their tastes, budget or dietary restrictions and I want everyone to be comfortable.
I have been looking at North End posts because I loved wandering around there in my college days and I like the option of having an after-dinner drink or dessert within walking distance, but after what I've been reading about reservations (or lack thereof), I'm not sure if it's wise to try this neighborhood on a busy Friday night.
Preferred location: near North End or Copley (where I'm staying) with after-dinner bars or cafes within a couple blocks
Preferred price: To give you an idea, I'm leaning towards Antico Forno. If most in my party can order a pasta or entree for $15-22 without feeling cheap that'd be great.
Maybe I should stick with Antico Forno... but am I missing something that could be even better? The eternal dilemma!
