Mode -- Covent Garden, London

Got back from a day trip to Brighton, Hove and Lewes early evening (fish and chips at the shore) and went out locally (Covent Garden area) to Endell St. Ate at a place called Mode, a pizza/pasta/wine place. Just wanted to mention that, although not a destination place by any means, it is quite a friendly, inexpensive place to have a bottle of sangiovese, a pasta con fungi (Ginny) or a good caprioso pizza with mushrooms, olives and bacon (yeah, pancetta, I know, but bacon here is something entirely different & this was bacon!) & side salads that were large with fresh leaves of tasty greens in balsemic and good olive oil. Total cost of 26pounds for two was very reasonable to us, especially given the area. For anyone looking in from my home town, think Savoia on Smith St. Cheers!
