I love mock duck and need recommendations for both restaurants and retail (greater LA area and mid-Wilshire-downtown-East side accessible both). I've bought mock duck at Erewhon which is (surprise) moulded into the shape of a duck and sliceable. It's the only take-away mock duck I've found, and I'd love to be able to have it at home. But much of the pleasure of mock duck, I think, is the experience of biting through the ribbonny layers. This is more like chomping down on a thirty-six ounce portobello.
