Okay, we expected problems the first night. Maybe a forgotten appetizer, appetizers and entrees brought together, inefficient service. But we chanced it. Total disaster. Few people were eating; it was like 150 people were auditioning for the part of "still-fairly-goodnatured-but-hungry-couple." We arrived before 8 and ordered within 15 minutes (after the hostess pointed us out to our waiter). The waiter did bring our wine, although it appeared that someone had placed their entire mouth around the bowl of one of our glasses. Knew not to wait for our waiter, so went to the bar and was graciously given a clean glass. By 9, we hadn't even received our plantain chips. Left money on the table for our wine and left. Many people around us had been there longer than we had and were still not eating. There appeared to be enough waitstaff to handle the crowd, but they were wandering about aimlessly, occasionally stopping to apologize to people (but not us) for bringing the wrong (or no) entree.
We'll go back - after a while. The place looks good, the prices for food and drink range from very reasonable to not-so-expensive, and no place should be judged on its first night. But wow.
