My extended family is taking advantage of my Columbia grad school graduation to visit NYC and I want to host a nice dinner for all 10. Age range from 3 to 65, all world travellers/lived overseas and finicky about good value and great food (must be the number of Asians in the group). They're biased against NYC in that they think it is vastly overpriced for "Americanized" (or fusion) versions of authentic from places they have lived or visited.
I'd love to keep cost to $50 a person for food only (student budget) but I doubt this is possible, given my humble chowing experiences in this city.
On my possibility list so far are: Devi, L'Ecole, & Mercer Kitchen.
Any ideas to win them over?
Thanks in advance.
