Went to find a recipe I had remembered from Gourmet for a spring lamb dinner. It was from April 2005 and reading through the issue brought back how I miss this magazine.
The recipes sounded really good; the photography was beautiful. The lamb dinner wine pairing was a Dry Creek Valley Zin, one of my favorite wines. There was an article by Calvin Trillin about R. W. Apple's 70th birthday party at L'Ami Louis. There was an article by Bourdain about food trends with the line: "the next foam-crazed Adria wannabe who tells me how to eat is going to get a pepper mill upside the head." And there was a Roadfood article about Italian sandwiches in Portland ME.
And this was an issue I just plucked off the shelf.
