Using miso paste to roast vegetables?

I'll be making some caramelized turnips next week (loosely inspired by an old Gourmet recipe), either by pan-roasting or oven-roasting...and I'd like to incorporate miso paste or miso butter in some way. I know I could use the miso as a dressing or sauce of sorts after the turnips have cooked, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has actually roasted their vegetables with miso...as in, tossed the vegetables with miso paste or miso butter before the oven time.
