Mish Mosh Soup - Once Upon a Sub - Highland Park

Hi,

Next door to Carlos (fine dining)is Once Upon a Sub, by the same people who bring us Once Upon a Bagel. The Sub place is a new establishment in operation since mid Summer.

Its a pleasant place to order a pastrami or corn beef sandwich on your choice of a roll, bagel, bialy or bread. Their submarine sandwiches come on white or whole wheat bialy rolls.

Today I found something which will make me a repeat visitor all winter long: Mish Mosh Soup at $5.49 including choice of bagel. The chicken soup came in a mini-bathtub of a bowl filled with noodles, rice, matzo ball and kreplach. What made this outstanding was all the carrots, celery, onion and pieces of chicken meat mingling with all the starches. Other restaurants charging a bit more for their Mish Mosh soup had the starches idling in a clear chicken broth.

NOw that I have the medicine organize, I can have a cold!

Best regards,
CAthy2
