My fridge died, so I drove around a lot looking for a place that sold large sytrofoam coolers. In January. (yes, I finally found some at the fifth place I tried, Long's on 51st). Some notes to add to some previous threads:

Halal Market, 30th and Telegraph: this is the middle eastern place I was trying to remember during the 'Pita' thread. They were open, and had "Afghan Bakery" prominently displayed on their sign. Now, "Afghan" does not equal "pita", but they might have something good. (no, I didn't stop -- was in a hurry!)

Although I heard a rumor of Autumn Moon reopening, it doesn't look to be the case -- or at least not in the same location. It's now a law office.

Nearby, though, there's a new Mexican place called something like Senor Nero. Sunday brunch was advertized. Again, didn't have a chance to check it out, but it would be nice to have a Mexican place on Grand. It's across from the 7-11 (third light from the theater?).

And yes, there is an Emil Villa's in the 51st street Safeway complex, and it's still open. Crowded, if the parking lot near it was any indication.

Sorry -- I know these deserved to be added to their original threads, but probably few folks are still reading the Autumn Moon thread. ;-)
