We had a really nice meal, and I hope this place succeeds.
Subtle, smooth, sophisticated and delicious, starting with the chick peas that land on your table while you read the menu. They nail the sauces - there's a puddle of three with one of the apps (B-something, it's the last on the list, a nice puff pastry dish) and we got excited dipping our forks in...the yogurt tahini lemon was, well, masterful.
I'm a middle eastern food lover (Famous Pita on Coney Island Ave, Moustache, wherever!) and was really impressed by how SUBTLE they turned these flavors.
The herb salad is excellent -- including some really nicely grilled octopus. So often a green salad is disappointing to me as a home cook who makes good dressing...but I like fresh greens with my meal. At Miriams's I was happy . . .
