What did I have at Miracali Bakery (Jackson Hts)?

After a taco feast at Taqueria Coatzingo, hubs & I stopped by Miracali Bakery in Jackson Hts for dessert. I picked up what was just like pandebono (aball of springy, almost chewy cheese-flavored bread), but it was ball-shaped, and not as flat as the photos of Miracali's real pandebono show online. It was delicious and what the lady behind the counter recommended. Anyone know what this might have been?

Also, in my ignorance, I picked up in the refrigerated beverage case what I thought would be sweet but it wasn't: a drink container of milk with chunks of cooked corn (the starchy kind - maiz?) on the bottom. "Strapped" to the top with tape was a small package of what the lady described as a sweet to be eaten along with the drink - turned out to be a slice of compressed fruit leather/jelly.

What is this drink? I keep googling, but have only come up with atole, which it was not. It seems like it could be a meal in a cup, kinda like a version of oatmeal.

In any case, all of the breads and buns in the case looked pretty appetizing. There were some huge pastries/breads, maybe family-sized?
