Last minute help needed -- vegan, Peninsula, picky

A friend of ours is visiting SF. We're in San Mateo and we're meeting her and her friend for dinner tonight. We don't feel like driving into the city. They've agreed to take BART to Millbrae. Here's the dilemna -- our friend is a vegan and her friend doesn't eat Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese food (I know, it's unbelievable, but whatever). They suggested Indian, which is one of the few kinds of food I really don't like, but I'm willing to eat it if there's no other option. My partner doesn't eat meat but does eat fish. I guess Mexican would be ok, if it's the kind of place that understands vegans. Italian probably involves too much cheese. Japanese probably involves too much fish. I can't think of any other possibilities.

So, what are the options? We're willing to drive up to San Bruno or maybe a little further north. Are there any good places for a vegan, a vegaquarian, a likes everything but Indian, and a picky eater, anywhere around the San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame area?
