I made my first seven minute frosting yesterday and it had an odd metallic taste. Since it was my first time making this frosting, I have nothing to gauge it by - but it just tasted odd.
For those who are seven minute frosting experts - any guesses, based on my ingredients?: I used 2 egg whites, 1/2 c sugar, 1/4 t. cream of tartar, 1/4 c. light corn syrup and 1 1/2 t. vanilla. I wonder if it was too much vanilla and that's what the odd taste was all about.
