Nicole Pirraglia-Piparo of City Island has opened Minis Latin Fusion at 237 Main Street, New Rochelle, in a charming refurbished space that had formally operated as Fratelli's. She is joined by talented Chef Christian Miranda who had previously worked in the kitchens of Asia de Cuba, Manhattan, and Madison Kitchen, Larchmont.
Had a chance to stop in for a bite during happy hour last night. A bowl of delicious Sanchoco, a Latin chicken stew, was loaded with flavor and product all melding beautifully. Followed with Minis Carne Hero, flank steak, pepper jack, pickled onions, and choice of yuca or French fries. Chose the French fries. One of the best, most flavorful sandwiches I have had this year. The fries addicting and crispy on the outside. They are serving a lunch menu and limited dinner menu right now Tuesday thru Sunday. Happy hours include specially priced cocktails and appetizers, served 3-7 p.m. weekdays. Free parking. Phone: 914-355-5609. Website under construction at this writing: www.minislatinfusion.com
