I finally made it to the "new" Kenmore square (no more Guinness and ice cream at the Deli Haus!)
Had a lovely cold Lillet Blanc as aperitif. The endive salad with mango and bacon was crisp and fresh tasting. The special soup - sage vichyssois was deliciously subtle and creamy. In the trio of pates, the chicken liver was a melt in your mouth standout - but the porc rillette reminded me that I don't particularly like kidneys and the pate de campagne seemed a little bland. My companion had the lentil patty entree which was soft and tasty for my one bite, but she was of the opinion that it needed more accompaniment other than the salad greens on the side. Sadly we were too stuffed to attack the dessert bar and may have to make a special trip. It's great to have a place like this with a price range that allows for the occasional splurge.
