Ming's Hong Kong Style cafe, Peach-Tree Plaza Markham - Surprisingly tasty food offered by hole-in-wall outfit!

Charles Yu | Sep 16, 201606:50 PM     8

The number of good eating places inside Peach Tree Plaza are so overwhelming, it never crossed my mind to give this hole-in-the-wall a try, until tonight. Following my son's footstep, who was wowed by their ' Gwai Lin Rice Vermicelli ', we decided to have a simple dinner at this un-assuming place, after our eating spree in Chicago last week.
Being a Hong Kong style cafe, we opted for the usual favorites of 'Stewed spaghetti with ox-tongue in tomato sauce', 'Casserole of baked Pork Chop with tomato & Cheese on fried rice' and the supposedly, fantastic tasting, rice vermicelli. Well, we were glad we ordered the latter because it must be one of the best tasting bowl of Gwai Lin Rice Vermicelli I have ever come across! It was simply uber-delicious! The topping was complex and taste profile multi-layered. The chopped marinated pickled Chinese mustard-green was so addictive.

Unlike negative comments from a number of reviewers in other food blogs, the service we received from our lady server tonight was friendly and helpful. Indeed service with a smile.

All in all, IMO, one of the better Hong Kong style cafe in the GTA. BTW, the HK style milk tea was indeed top notch and worthy of its being mentioned in BlogTO as one of GTA top 5! However, I still prefer the slightly stronger version by Richmond Court inside of Times Square, Richmond Hill
