Ming's Diner Chowdown on July 22, 2004 @ 6:45 PM

Jason and yimster | Jul 12, 2004 05:36 PM

Jason and yimster invites the Bay Area board to join them for a Chowhound dinner at Ming’s Diner on July 22, 2004 at 6:45 PM. This interesting place has been discussed on the board several times and we will have a set dinner menu for ten. I have already discussed about this type of a meal with the owner of Ming’s and she said they can do two tables easily. three could be doen it we have enough. Did not tell her about Chowhound.

We are requesting at least a 5 dollar donation to help support Chowhound. You can make a reservation with me at yimposter@yahoo.com

Here is the menu we will use from the web site.

Vegetarian Goose Rounded with Jelly Fish
Cuttle Fish with Sugar Bean
Fried Prawns with Honey Walnuts
Crabmeat and Fish Maw Soup
Crispy Fried Chicken
Baked Twin Crab with Ginger &Scallions
Peking Pork Chops
Stuffed Mushrooms with Green Tops
Pan Fried Sautéed Sea Bass
Special Seafood Fried Rice
Desserts

This the $138 menu, I did not pick the next higher priced menu because I like these dishes better and the lower price allow us to order to one of the stuffed boneless game hen for us to try. I may after see the interest for this meal I may chamge the Peking Ribs to something else.. I will be discussing this will Jason off line. Maybe a dish like Side Pork with Preserved Vegetables.

Since Jason and I have taken up four seats at the first table already you will need to make reservation quickly or you may miss out. I will fill each table as we get ten. So until we get ten, I will have you on a wait list till the table fills. I will email you as soon as your table is filled.

Cost should be about twenty five per person. This includes at lest a five dollar donation to Chowhound. We need to have full tables so no show will be cost the others more for the meals.
