mina question about the [amazing] meal i had

korgy | May 2, 2004 12:41 AM

ok, i'm not a south asian food expert, so my terminology is really lame - we ordered about 12 dishes last week, and this is one of the most amazing South Asian meals i've ever had.

Particularly of note were the little stuffed-pure (sp?) appetizers (what were they called?crunchy inside?), the eggplant dish (?), and the chicken koorma. least interesting to me, but still great, was the mustard-sauce fish.. i meant to grab a menu to recap the event, but unfortunately i was too stuffed to think about it...

HERE'S MY QUESTION - please don't laugh at me(!):

the condiments, chutneys, and sauces that are usually part oif Indian and Bagladeshi meals were not there. did i miss them? my friend and i were giggling trying to figure out how to ask the waiter...i finally just blurted out, "can we get some sauce please?" like a typical uncouth American. He eagerly responded, "oh, yes.." - then, 1 minute later, he comes back with this TINY little plastic thing of green stuff. my friend and i burst out laughing - we had pictured one of those metal rotating carousels with all the different things to be spooned...

--->Did we miss the sauces, or is this not part of Mina fare?

thanks..
