Mina - Fish & Shellfish Allergy - How to handle it

I can't recall enthusiasm for place such as what's being heaped upon Mina since... I guess the Octopus Man. I give in. I'll make a pilgramige to Mina in the next week or two.

One question. My intrepid eating partner is seriously, as in can't leave the bathroom for 3 day serious, allergic to ALL fish and shellfish.

I'm concerned about bringing her here and ending up with her ill.

While it's pretty easy to avoid obvious fish dishes, some cuisines, Thai for example, use a fish-based sauce in a number of dishes... and when you ask the waitstaff about any fish in the food, they say there's not only to find out that there is.

So... I'll plead some ignorance... from discussion, the food seems to be a hybrid of bangledishi/pakistani(/nepalese?). That doesn't sound too "fishy" to me. What do you think? Will the waitstaff be able to understand our concerns?

I'm really excited to go, and I will regardless, but I'd like to bring her along so I don't suffer glowering looks for the next few weeks. ;)
