A few Saturdays ago, I shopped the Santa Rosa original farmers market at the Burbank Center and noticed Min-Hee's Seoul Kitchen. This is run by the same sweet Korean lady who has the organic farm, and indeed some of her produce is featured here.
She offers Korean items such as bulgogi (beef or pork cooked to order) and big fat eggrolls. I was especially tempted by the side of sauteed greens (kale, spinach and more) on the rice plate and almost asked if I could get that as a separate side. She also serves up other Asian dishes that she said she has learned how to make from her friends. For example, the banh mi features homemade chicken liver pate' and homegrown/housemade pickled carrots and daikon.
I ordered from another part of Southeast Asia, getting the Lao kao poon (chicken curry noodle soup). She shredded the crisp cabbage to order.
To the chicken curry soup, she added a shot of fresh lime juice and some fish sauce, as well as rice noodles and cilantro. A delicious start to my day.
One of my beefs with our local farmers markets is that many of the prepared food vendors do not utilize the high quality produce sold at the market. I'm very glad to see Min-Hee offering her best vegetables in her dishes, truly farm-to-table.
