Mimi's has great coleslaw...

Slow Foodie | May 2, 200312:09 PM     6

We tried the Los Feliz Mimi's last night in the ongoing quest to nourish the pups without depleting their college funds. The pups adored it. There was a "Where's Waldo" type kids menu that kept them happily busy. The menu has the usual chicken tenders and stuff but also a jr. sized turkey dinner which sounded nice. They also offer a large serving of fresh fruit as a side instead of the usual fries. A small dessert was included and the cost is $3.95 per kid. Furthermore, the kids drinks are served in tiny cups so I liked having a bit less soda consumed (although they do refill...)

I had a respectable patty melt on nice marble rye bread accompanied by what was the best coleslaw I've ever had. Green cabbage and lots of green onions. Ultra fresh, not too sweet and not soggy or overdressed. Really do try to avoid chain restaurants but that slaw might really draw us back.
