Another great stay - a few of the highlights:
Trocadero on Water (& Brady St) - felt like we were in Paris! Sat at the bar & shared a steak sandwich with excellent frites & cheese plate (served too cold) & a bottle of wonderful Borgougone Blanc. They serve til midnight. Friendly staff - great small plates menu. Went back for lunch - my ham & cheese crepe a bit much, but the wild mushroom soup was awesome!
Velvet Room - excellent martinis & atmosphere - their key lime pie martini was to die for...
Cafe 1505 in Mequon - excellent lemon orzo soup, decent quiche, salads looked good, very attentive service & I was drooling over the baked goods case - if my in-laws weren't so dissapproving of over-eating, I'd try everything - even date bars that I remember from my childhood & haven't seen for years. I'm gonna sneak back here & try it all next trip!
Sendik's on Oakland has the most amazing cheese counter ever - you are so lucky!
Harlequin Bakery - was hoping for more of a cafe-type setting for breakfast (Coquette next door was closed), but delicious sour cherry & walnut torte, brownies like fudge, a coffee cream macaron to die for & those wonderful rosemary & olive oil breadsticks - yumm!
Didn't get to suggested places due to family emergency, but at least hit some new & good ones...
