Since the subject of millet congee came up in passing a few weeks ago, I thought I'd give this follow up information. I actually saw this dish listed on the menu at Szechwan Garden, a newish restaurant in Artesia. Can't recall seeing this dish listed anywhere before. Szechwan Garden has the appetizer display trays you see at a lot of Sichuan restaurants in addition to their menu items, and is at 18854 Norwalk Blvd. In other neighborhood news, Yummy Boba has relocated from the back to back building with Szechwan Garden over to larger quarters on Pioneer Blvd. I know that a boba place changing locations is generally not chowish news. But despite the name, Yummy Boba is a full fledged Chinese restaurant with a full menu of over 150 items, located in a full sized restaurant space. A lot of people are going to overlook this restaurant because of its name, thinking it sells popcorn chicken and fried tofu, and they should really change the name. Yummy Boba is at 18349 Pioneer Blvd., in the space formerly occupied by Dumpling House.
