Mikey's Place - Puerto Rican & Cuban in San Rafael

Malcolm Ruthven | Feb 10, 201203:02 PM

Mikey's Place is one year old today, quite a feat in a location that has seen a seemingly-unending stream of restaurants. It's family owned and operated, and (I think) the chef was at the departed Mambo's. I love their food as well as the very personable servers. At lunch today, the Masitas de Puerco, "pork chunks marinated in Cuban mojo sauce topped with sauteed onions" was just great. In the photo, I'd eaten quite a bit of it before I remembered to take a picture. Also, the freshly-made plantain chips were excellent.
