He was an operatic deli owner from Calabria who brought delight to thousands of shoppers at the legendary indoor Arthur Ave. Retail Market in the 'Little Italy' of the Bronx. Mike's Deli became internationally known for its Italian-American fare and its dynamic founder. There are many stories here, and if I may share one...I recall sitting next to him during a mid-afternoon lunch at Mario's Restaurant next door (which is currently marking 100 years) as Mike finished off two big Osso Buco's with gusto and a glass of wine. Before going back to work. He lived life to the hilt. RIP, Mike!

Mike's Deli is as busy as ever with his son David at the helm. Any memories?
