Mie N Yu-a review

derailed16 | May 3, 2004 10:13 AM

We went to Mie N Yu in georgetown yesterday, thanks to some discount deals from (buy a $100 gift certificate for $54.95). We bought 3, thus $300. Overall the experience was good. I suppose we came on a good day and time, sunday @ 6:45pm, we did make reservations. Not busy yet, so we were served right away. The place filled up at 7pm. The decor was very eye pleasing and the music was soothing. There was a variety of different seating (boothes, tables, a bird cage, and even something like looked like an indoor mini-gazebo. We were very suprised to see how big the place was and how many different rooms/themes they had. The bathroom was a riot. Unisex.
We both ordered the 6 course tasting menu, which provided a variety of Thai infused platters. Most of the dishes were creative and tasty. The portions were on the small side for the price. I was not very impressed with their "green mango papaya salad". But I highly recommend the Seared scallop, the miso halibut, the duck duck duck, the Thai pu pu grill and the Bananas foster napoleon.
We both agreed we would come back, but only if we had a deal like this one again, it was EXPENSIVE!
