need midtown suggestions for a last minute trip

guttube | Jan 3, 201512:08 AM

Never gave midtown much thought foodwise since in the past I've had time to trek around for destination dining. But since I'm staying on Lexington, near Grand Central and MOMA, I thought I'd ask if there are any gems in the area I could eat at as a walk-in. Most of my non-eating commitments are in the neighborhood so I'd like to save time and stick to the general area.

I've got five meals (not including breakfast) for my stay: Benoit for a cassoulet lunch, Mission Chinese for dinner, Hide-Chan Ramen for a Hakata Kuro Ramen lunch because it's only a few blocks away, and one more dinner and lunch to fantasize about. Open to any cuisine. Partial to seafood. Ambience not an issue.

And if I'm not able to eat as a walk-in at Mission Chinese, is there a place that would be a good Plan B to eat at in that neighborhood?

Benoit New York,
Mission Chinese Food,
Cha Chan Tang,
Hakata Tonton,
Hakata Zen Hot Pot
