Midtown Goodbye Lunch

factoryseashell | Apr 25, 200703:51 PM     8

A good buddy of mine will be on his last day tomorrow and we want to take him out to lunch. Midtown usually gives me a headache, and I'd like suggestions for somewhere nice and delicious, formal but not necessarily stuffy and outrageously expensive (we are non-profit salaried, unfortunately!). I always end up scrolling the restaurant listings but am never able to make a good decision. Suggestions from more seasoned professionals are welcome.

More approx area: 42nd Street and higher, from however west to say, Park Ave.
